APL 2nd season set to take off in June

Visakhapatnam: With the popular T20 cricket league gaining a huge fan base, Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is all set to launch the Andhra Premier League (APL) season sometime in June.
The first edition had six teams and season 2 will see the addition of one new team making it seven to make the league more exciting. This time, in addition to Visakhapatnam, it will also be hosted at Kadapa.
The teams will represent different cities and zones of Andhra Pradesh, bringing together cricket enthusiasts from all over the State. The league promises to be a platform for budding cricketing talent to showcase their skills and compete with the best on the national platform.
Commenting on the launch of APL season 2, Gopinath Reddy, secretary of ACA said “we are thrilled to announce the launch of the second season of APL. After the huge success of our inaugural season, we have raised the bar higher this year. We have added one new team to the league, which will make it even more competitive and exciting and also we are broadcasting live on Star Sports 2, Star 2 HD and Star Telugu with Fancode as our OTT platform.”
He said “we are confident that the league will be a great platform for young talent to showcase their skills and make a name for themselves.” The league phase of the tournament will witness 21 matches with each team playing six matches each against each other. The top four teams will qualify for qualifiers and eliminators with two teams making it to the grand finale.
APL was launched in 2022 and has already gained a significant fan following. The league aims to provide a platform for young cricketing talent in the State to showcase their skills and compete with the best.
